So I know the importance of staying hydrated...but how do I know if I am drinking enough water?                                                                                                                                                                                                                        If you are asking yourself this question, have no fear.  We are going to discuss how much water you should be consuming and how to make sure that you are hitting this goal.  So how much water should you drink a day?  According to research conducted by the Mayo Clinic, men should be consuming approximately 15.5 cups(3.7 liters) per day and women should consume 11.5 cups(2.7 liters) per day in order to maintain sufficient hydration levels.  I know it may seem like a lot and you may be wondering how you could even have access to that much water throughout the day!  Our advice is to purchase a high quality, insulated water bottle.  You may think of Ice Shaker and immediately think, protein shakes.  Our 26os bottles are the most versatile bottles on the market.  Not only are they great for mixing supplements but are amazing water bottles!  They will keep your water ice cold for over 30 hours, won't sweat, and won't spill or leak!  They also feature precise fill lines so you can track exactly how much water you are drinking throughout the day.

So, now that you know how much water you should be consuming throughout the day, what will it do for you?

Protect against disease- Proper water consumption may help protect against kidney stones, Urinary Tract Infections(UTI's), coronary heart disease, and possibly some forms of cancer.  Water helps to flush bacteria from your body and remove it safely from your system.

Boost Physical Performance- Water can help fight fatigue, improve stamina, lower your heart rate, and help you recover faster after strenuous exercise.  It is important to consume water before, during, and after exercise to replenish the body of fluids lost while training.

Pro tip:  Keep a 26oz Ice Shaker on hand while training to limit trips to the water fountain.  Aim to consume between 1 and 2 full bottles during a 1 hour training session.

Help your Brain!- Studies have suggested that even slight dehydration may impair cognitive function in the short term.  Keep your mind sharp by drinking enough water throughout the day!
